Lipscomb Academy is an intentionally Christian Community with a mission to equip students to love to learn, learn to love, and live to serve.

In support of this mission, Lipscomb Academy is seeking to hire an assistant human performance instructor to assist and support the implementation of physical conditioning training programs for athletes in all sports and partner with wellness staff at the academy to develop programming to equip all academy students to learn to live an active, healthy lifestyle.

Qualifications

 

Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology, Health, Physical Education, or related field

Preferred: Pursuing or have a Master’s degree in kinesiology, health, physical education or related field

Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (or similar)

Previous experience as a performance specialist in strength and conditioning in multiple sports

Qualifications:
High energy, charismatic training approach with the ability to interface with a variety of audiences
Experience motivating, inspiring and training middle and high school student athletes
Experience with both small and large group training and individual training
Proficiency in writing training programs for athletes of all ages in a variety of sports.
Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills with colleagues, sports coaches, and athletes
Highly organized with the ability to juggle multiple projects and ability to work collaboratively with experts in other areas to holistically serve all LA students
Excellent presentation skills and written and verbal communication skills

-Knowledge of principles, methods and current developments in the academic discipline.
-Knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques appropriate to teaching the courses assigned.
-Ability to advise, instruct, manage, motivate, and evaluate students.
-Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
-Ability to effectively and appropriately integrate technology into the teaching and learning process.
-Ability to successfully interact with students, other educators and educational institution representatives, and the general public in a professional manner.
-Ability to work collaboratively in course design and to teach interdisciplinary and topical courses.
