The successful candidate will be expected to:
Design and implement strength and conditioning programs for all student-athletes and sports teams except baseball and football
Regularly test the student-athletes to determine the effectiveness of the programs
Maintain accurate records of student-athlete’s progress within the strength and conditioning program
Modify workouts and implement rehabilitative exercises for injured student-athletes as prescribe by the Head Athletic Trainer
Report the progress of all student-athletes to the respective head coach
Be responsible for coordinating scheduling and daily upkeep of all strength and conditioning facilities
Provide the proper supervision of student-athletes to ensure that all student-athletes receive proper instruction on the safe usage of weight machines and free weights
Perform or coordinate all administrative aspects related to the strength and conditioning program
Abide by all NCAA, SWAC and University rules and regulations
Represent the University at clinics, seminars, workshops, etc. as needed
Other duties as assigned by the head strength and conditioning coach
A Bachelor’s degree is required; Masters’ degree is preferred. The successful candidate must have a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) credential and/or be certified by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies (NCCA).
