We are seeking candidates interested in working with us to educate our students to meet the needs of an increasingly diverse, multicultural, and technology-driven society. This position will be filled with a professional who has the potential and desire for engaging in professional collaboration with others at the university, national, and international levels. Candidates should be well-informed of current research trends and topics in Physical Education. The following duties are customary for this position, but are not to be construed as all-inclusive. Duties may be added, deleted, and assigned based on management discretion and institutional needs.

Teaching: Primary teaching responsibilities for this position include undergraduate courses in the area of elementary physical education methods/skills, secondary physical education methods/skills, and fitness wellness and assessment. The courses may be delivered on campus, off campus, or potentially online. Undergraduate advising is also expected.

Scholarship: Maintain awareness of current research trends and topics associated with Physical Education. Maintain an active role in research and scholarly production including publishing in peer-reviewed journals and securing research funding.

Service: Actively participate in university service (departmental, college, and university committees) and professional service. Actively participate in recruitment and retention efforts and supervision of the majors club.



Job Requirements:

Candidate should meet the following criteria:

  • Hold a Doctorate in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a closely related field by time of appointment.
  • Articulate a well-defined research agenda in the area of Physical Education or Kinesiology with the potential for extramural funding.
  • Experience teaching in higher education.
  • At least two years of experience teaching Physical Education at the K-12 level.
