Competition can include injuries. As an athletic trainer, you’ll be one of the first on the scene, quickly assessing the injury and either providing immediate care or referring the athlete to a physician. The goal, of course, is a fast—and safe—return to play.
Northwestern’s athletic training program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education ( CAATE).
Northwestern graduates who have taken the Board of Certification examination for athletic trainers have proven the excellence of our program. In the past seven years, 29 of 36 majors passed their Board of Certification exam on the first attempt (for a 80.5% first-time pass rate), and the program has a 97.2% overall pass rate since 2010.
